History and Purpose
Academic Applications International began as International Technical Education and Consulting Associates (INTEC) in 1979 (see AAII Charter). The INTEC corporate focus and name was changed to AAII in 1987. Project consulting and instructional services that began under INTEC continue through AAII, but with an increasing academic emphasis.
Collaboration is emphasized among academically inclined individuals, academic institutions, professional societies, private enterprises, and public agencies (see Current Projects). Academic applications are being pursued through academic support services that include or are related to:
- Academic Program Characterization
- Academic Accreditation and Certification
- Professional and Honor Society Development
- Educational and Training Program Delivery
- Domain Specific Courseware Development
The mission of AAII is to emphasize good stewardship of the world in which we live, with primary focus applied to the human-modified domain. The human-modified world is the natural world into which the human-made has been introduced as entities, subsystems, artifacts, and human activity systems; a world becoming increasingly complex.
Entirely too much attention is devoted to the human-made world as the center of interest. AAII strives to gain acceptance of the human-modified world as the ultimate system level at which the viability of all that is human-made should be judged. Advancing that desideratum has become AAII’s overarching mission.
